“Touch of Sleep”
DaVarryl Williamson
Founder & Head Coach
His coaching philosophy is simple, sharp, and hard-won: adapt to the boxer in front of you, stay relaxed, and hit the target until the target is no longer there.
A champion who could coast on his name, DaVarryl would rather be on the floor, working hands-on with every athlete who walks through the door. He meets each boxer exactly where they are, from a nervous first-timer learning how to stand to a professional boxer chasing a title. The same eye that built Golden Gloves champions will sweat the details of someone’s very first jab.
DaVarryl’s coaching is rooted in discipline, precision, and presence. He studies each boxer’s rhythm, strengths, habits, and instincts, then builds from what is already there. His goal is not just to teach technique, but to help every athlete become sharper, calmer, more confident, and more dangerous in their own way.
His favorite boxer is Muhammad Ali, not only for Ali’s style, speed, and brilliance in the ring, but for what Ali represented as a Black man and for everything he gave to boxing, culture, and the world.
Signature: Mitt WorkGet on the mitts with DaVarryl and the round becomes a puzzle. He runs combinations you have never seen, in sequences you cannot predict, until your hands and feet stop waiting for your brain. That is how reflexes are built, not by repetition, but by surprise. By round three you will feel it: faster hands, calmer feet, sharper eyes. His pads are the busiest in Colorado for a reason. Book a private and find out.
Around the gym, DaVarryl answers to a full collection of names: Commander, DarVey, DJ for that Dangerous Jab, and, of course, Touch of Sleep. Handing out nicknames is its own TOS tradition, and the man who started it has earned more than a few of his own.
